About
The Hepatobiliary Fellows were founded in 1986 by Professor Henri Bismuth, primarily by his students, foreign surgeons who completed internships at his center at Paul Brousse Hospital. Their goal is to promote the spirit of their training and to develop all aspects of hepatobiliary surgery. Today, this company, which operates as a closed club, brings together 89 Fellows from nearly 31 countries, a list of which appears in another tab.
The Hepatobiliary Fellows organize a congress every year in a different country. Organized by a Fellow, this Congress brings together Fellows along with the most important surgeons in the specialty. During this Congress, a day is held to discuss difficult observations together, maintaining the tradition of the "staff meeting," which is a highlight of the training of young surgeons under Professor Bismuth.
At this annual meeting, new Companions are appointed.
The Hepato-Biliary Fellows aim to create an international scientific and social community with the ideal of progress in their specialty.
Our mission
Share our knowledge, our practices and our discoveries among all companions beyond borders to advance hepatobiliary surgery.
Our values
Fraternalism, respect, and self-sacrifice are our fundamental values. They have guided us since the creation of the Companions, in our lives as well as in our research and surgical interventions.
Our promise
Par le partage et l’échange nous souhaitons emmener plus loin notre domaine d’expertise dans un esprit de camaraderie!
The members
Appointed annually by a committee chaired by Professor Henri Bismuth, new members of the Companions enrich our ranks with their expertise and know-how. All members meet at least once a year in one of the Companions' member countries.
